Dean Robbins

Developer and business consultant with 20 years at the intersection of business and technology. I've been a high-level executive, a business owner, and run business operations — on top of being a developer. That combination means I think about software differently than most developers. I think about what it does for the business first, and how to build it second.

Today I work as an independent consultant — primarily with small and mid-sized teams that need serious technical work without the overhead of an agency or a full-time hire. My clients get direct access to me. No project managers, no junior handoffs, no layers.

What I do

Most clients come to me with one need and stay for the full picture. View all services →

How I work

Every engagement starts with a conversation. I ask a lot of questions, map out what you're working with, and identify where the biggest impact is. Then I put together a clear proposal — scope, timeline, cost — before any work begins.

I build in short cycles with regular check-ins. You see working software early and often. When the project launches, I stick around — most clients keep me on retainer for ongoing work.

AI-augmented development

I use modern AI tools — Claude, Cursor, and others — to accelerate every part of my workflow. Research, code generation, iteration, documentation. Projects move faster and cost less without sacrificing quality. I'm transparent about this because it's a genuine advantage for my clients, not a shortcut.
